It is not a traditional dermal filler, but rather a unique product known as a "bio-remodeling" or "biostimulatory" injectable. Profhilo is primarily used for facial rejuvenation and skin tightening.

Here's what Profhilo does and how it works:

1. Skin Hydration: Profhilo is composed of a high concentration of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a naturally occurring substance in the body responsible for maintaining skin hydration. When injected into the skin, it helps to replenish and boost the skin's hyaluronic acid levels, improving hydration.
2. Collagen and Elastin Production: Profhilo contains a specific form of hyaluronic acid that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Collagen and elastin are essential proteins that provide structure and elasticity to the skin. As we age, our skin's natural production of these proteins decreases, leading to wrinkles and sagging. Profhilo helps counteract this by encouraging the skin to produce more collagen and elastin.
3. Tissue Remodeling: Profhilo has a unique spreading effect when injected into the skin. It flows and spreads through the dermal layers, providing a widespread improvement in skin quality. What areas can be treated with Profhilo?

Common areas of treatments with Profhilo include the face, neck, décolletage, arms and hands. Profhilo has been extended and approved for you in additional parts of the body sych as the stomach and knees. What is the Profhilo BAP technique?The BAP technique is also referred to as the Bio Aesthetic Points technique. The Profhilo BAP technique is spread across the malar and sub-malar areas of the face. In simpler terms, these injections are spread evenly across the face, with five injections of each side of the face. The Profhilo BAP technique maximises treatment comfort and results with fewer syringes Will results look natural?Yes! It effectively remodels the skin to appear smoother and tighter. Profhilo does not affect the shape of the face or volume. Its power lies in how it deeply hydrates, targets skin laxity and gives skin that glow, providing natural results.

How many treatments will i need?

A cycle of treatment includes 2 visits to the clinic and 4 weeks apart. After that you may need to come in 6 monthly for a another cycle of treatment and work down to once a year to keep that radiant glow. It will depend on your individual needs.

What To Expect At Your Appointment

Your skin will be cleaned so it’s free of lotion, oil, makeup, powder, or sunscreen.

You will be asked about any relevant medical history and of all the medications you’re taking.

We will also take Before pictures to monitor your results.

You will have adequate time to gather information and ask as many questions as you like.

The Profhilo treatment is an in-studio procedure that typically takes up to 60 minutes to complete.

When do results show?

You will start to see improvement with texture and tightness within the month of your first visit.

Does it hurt?

Pain and discomfort differ with every patient, however Profhilo is generally tolerated very well. You will experience a brief sting at each injection point.

Is there any downtime?

There is no real down time, you may experience lumps and bruises at the injection site, however these do disappear within an acceptable time frame. We encourage you to keep hydrated and refrain from touching the injection sites to minimize infection.

Before and After treatment tips

Pre and post treatment advice

Before your treatment

Avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDS, anticoagulant drugs, Gingko Biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liveroil, vitamin A, vitamin E and any other essential fatty acids in the week before the treatment.
On the day of your treatment DO NOT use make-up, lotions, creams, serums, tanners, orany other products on the areas to be treated.
Do not wax, bleach, use depilatory creams (Nair), or have electrolysis for 4 weeks
Avoid any chemical peels, facials, laser, and microdermabrasion for 2 weeks prior to treatment of the same area.
Avoid unprotected natural and artificial sun exposure of the area to be treated for 2 weeks for best results. A broad-spectrum sunscreen (UVA and UVB) with SPF of 30 or greater is recommended.
Time your appointment appropriately -If you have a big event coming up make sure you have a good window of time between your treatment and the event to allow for any bruising or swelling.
Exercise before treatment - We recommend avoiding any strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours post treatment, so get that gym session/workout in beforehand!
Get plenty of rest – Particularly the night before the treatment and try to eliminate as much stress as possible before treatment to prevent you from feeling rushed and hurried, this is you time!
Relax & enjoy - You may be a little nervous before your treatment, don’t be! We can assure you that you are in the best and safest hands at Friday Glow. You can ask any questions before/during treatment and the Friday Glow team are there for you post treatment too. We got you!

After your treatment

After treatment your skin may be pink or red at the treatment site. You may also have small lumps at the injection sites. This is normal, and usually disappears within a few hours.
Physical strain, headfirst movements and sports the day of and the day after treatment.
Cosmetic therapies for the first two days after the treatment.
Sauna, steam bath, icy temperatures or UV radiation by the sun or a solarium for two weeks after the treatment.
Dental procedures for two weeks after the treatment
Filler injections in the same area, microdermabrasion, chemical peel, IPL two weeks after the treatment
Fractional resurfacing 4 weeks after the treatment.
Bruising is possible, you can apply Hirudoid cream (available at most chemists) which may help to shorten the duration of the bruise.
Avoid rubbing/massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours.
Can I wear makeup? We recommend a mineral makeup only, from after 4 hours post treatment.
Please contact your clinic if you see signs of ‘duskiness’ or grey patches, pustules or unusual skin changes which may/may not be associated with pain.
