Dermal Filler

As we age we lose skin elasticity, volume and firmness. A Dermal Filler is a soft injectable gel that helps replenish and refresh your appearance by restoring lost volume and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.  It uses hyaluronic  acid (a naturally occurring sugar found in your body), which combines  with water in your skin.  Hyaluronic acid injections have also been  shown to stimulate collagen production.  Treatments are quick, simple,  comfortable and non-surgical.  Results are immediate leaving you looking  and feeling instantly refreshed.

When strategically placed under the  skin, Dermal Fillers will add volume and definition to your  facial features while keeping your appearance natural looking,  symmetrical and well-balanced.  Depending on what you want to  accomplish, the simple treatment can be used for many different  purposes.  It can be used to smooth existing lines, to restore lost volume in the cheeks and temples, or to reshape noses and jaw lines among other things.  The treatment is comfortable thanks to a formulation that includes lidocaine – a localised pain reliever.

At Friday Glow we will alway go for the natural look, enhancing your features, not changing them!

What are the risks?

There are mild risks with Dermal Filler. Serious side effects are not common but they are good to be aware of.

The most common post-treatment reaction is skin redness, swelling, itching, bruising, or pain and tenderness at the treatment site. Sometimes you may feel little lumps or bumps. These reactions usually disappear shortly after each injection or within a few days. If these become troublesome or persistent, or if you are concerned about any side effect, contact your clinician.

The most serious complication that can occur is vascular occlusion. This is where an artery is compromised by filler making its way into the artery slowing or stopping blood flow. This complication is serious however can be mitigated with hyaluronidase. This is kept on site. The immediate signs of an occlusion include intense pain in the area, dusky skin, bruising and skin blanching. Bruising is cause by blood leaking into the skin, dusky skin caused by an occlusion will not blanch.

It is important to know the signs of vascular occlusion and seek assistance from your injector immediately as though rare the most serious complication of vascular occlusion is blindness.

You will have the opportunity to ask any questions re complications at your initial consultation.

What is lip filler?

Lip fillers are a solution for adding volume and definition to the lips. If you're looking for a subtle, natural-looking enhancement to your lips, lip Filler may be what you're looking for.

The procedure involves injecting a hyaluronic acid-based filler into the lips to add volume, and hydration and restore moisture to the skin.

The results can last for up to a year, and touch-up treatments can be done to maintain the desired look. The hyaluronic acid used in lip fillers is naturally found in the body. It is injected into the vermillion border of the lip to increase volume, creating soft, poutier, and fuller lips. Additionally, lip fillers can also fill in the lines around the lips to smooth the appearance of the skin.
